Kerry. == Early life == A native of Moyvane, North Kerry, Ahern studied theology at St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, and music at University College Cork, graduating in 1962. He was appointed to a curacy in St. John’s Parish, Tralee, Co. Kerry in 1957.
